23 Week Pics

I went home for a couple's shower March 24 and the above pictures were taken. First are pics of Laurie Kaye, Me, and Amber. We are all due within 3 weeks of each other! Amber first, then 2 weeks after is Laurie Kaye, then 1 week after is ME! And of course, last but not least, a pic with one of my favorite people in the world...Haven!
We will be 24 weeks pregnant Monday! Woohoo for 6 months!

Glucose Round 1

Yucky Glucose Drink-1, Katie-0. So I went to my Dr's appt on Monday as scheduled. I drank the not-so-fabulous glucose drink and waited in the waiting room for my exam. Shortly after the exam, I'm supposed to get my blood drawn. This did not go according to plan - We have been SICK in our house. Weston started running a fever last weekend and I started running one on Sunday evening. Turns out we BOTH had the flu. Since the receptionist was unaware of my early morning call to the Dr to inform him of my illness, she had me drink the drink. While meeting with my Dr, he apologizes and says they can't take my blood considering how sick I am. Flu swab confirmed - it's the flu. I would say this visit was a waste, except he gave me some drugs for the flu and we listened to baby girl's heartbeat :)
As far as how I'm feeling? Not so hot. I'm still pretty ill. The flu has migrated into my chest and turned into a form of bronchitis, which is scary considering I'm pregnant because this could turn into pneumonia. My Dr put me on yet another drug in hopes of clearing it up. Let's hope it does the trick! I'm not too fond of taking all these meds while pregnant, but in this case it's the only way to stay healthy for the baby.
I go back to the Dr on Monday, April 9th. We will get an ultrasound that morning at 8am then head to the office for another round of "Glucose drinking and blood taking". I'm praying all goes according to plan this time :)

Weeks 21 & 22

These 2 weeks flew by! I'm feeling great, energy wise. I'm staying up later and feel good in the mornings. I'm not really throwing up - I say 'really' because it still happens at random times. But 90% of the time, I'm not sick. Woohoo! If it weren't for the barely tolerable pain in my right hip, I'd be as well as a non-preggo gal. But this pain is in-sane. Sometimes I can barely make it up a flight of stairs - and after sitting or lying down for longer than 15 minutes, it takes me several minutes just to get up because the pain just about paralyzes me. I go back to the Dr on Monday (we are 1 week ahead on our Dr schedule due to my work...it's supposed to be my 24 week appointment but I'll really be going during my 23rd week) so I'm going to address this hip issue with him again. He said if it continued to worsen, we would consider seeing an ortho. surgeon about hip injections - YIKES! I'm hoping it doesn't go that far at all---meanwhile I'm looking for other answers. Any advice?

Weston is beginning to really understand the "baby" concept. We painted the girl's room baby pink and he knows it's a baby room. He also looks at babies and will say "baby", and point to them and also gently pat them when he sees them in books.

Week 21 weekend, Kerri came into town! We went to the movies and saw "This Means War" (hil-ar-ious, by the way) and shopped all day on Saturday. It was a wonderful weekend! Week 22 weekend, Laurie Kaye came into town. Since she is also pregnant, and expecting a girl (just 7 days before me!), and we had a great time! We did "baby" things and really enjoyed spending our time together. Thank you to my fabulous friends!! You're making this pregnancy such a fun one!

I'll give another update after our "24 week" appointment on Monday, ha.

We are headed back to GA this weekend! Hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of Spring :)

Half Way!

20 weeks along...

We are half way there!! So exciting. We also have so much going on in the next few months that I'm hoping it continues to fly by. I've been feeling much better, minus the occasional lapse of naseau and fatigue, which are few and far between. We were busy this weekend! We painted Weston's room and are in the process of painting baby girl's room! I'll post a before and after of Weston's room when it's finished, as well as the nursery. It's been so much fun preparing - I'm just loving every second!
Baby Girl Filipovitz -- 20 weeks gestation!
Our 20 week doctor appt went very well. We were able to see baby girl (above!) and how much she has grown. Even Weston was able to see her! He pointed to my belly when he saw the screen and said, "baby, baby". Too cute. Everything looked wonderful - she is progressing just as she should and her heart/brain/limbs/etc all look perfect. I've gained 5 lbs, which makes about 10 lbs total! And you can definitely tell. Let's hope this weight-gaining-thing slows down for a little while before it speeds back up!

Our 19th Week

This week has been a little crazy. It's been busy-busy and Baby Girl is growing fast! I feel like I've really grown in the past 5 days or so. I've had several people tell me, "You're belly has really 'popped' this week!"
My energy level has been much better and I still haven't thrown up! That makes 3 weeks without getting sick...yay! I'm really praying that the sickness is finally behind me. If my pregnancies are true to the sex like they have been so far (sick with boy, REALLY sick with girl), then the sex of any pregnancy after this one will be predictable as soon as I become pregnant! Ha!
We have our 20 week appointment tomorrow morning and are anxious to see how much she has grown. I know I've grown a lot (yikes!), so I'm hoping she has, too. Otherwise I'm just gaining unnecessary weight, which = no good!
I'm entering a little bit of the nesting stage and am so ready to start painting the nursery. And decorating it. And going through Weston's old clothes to see what I can also use for her. I've been such a hoarder with his clothes, so I'm sure some of it will work - although tons of it has his name or initials on it so that stuff is, unfortunately, out. But Hopefully I can start a project this weekend. I'll be going to Carrollton for 3 weekends in March, out of town 2 weekends in April, and out of town 2 weekends in May - and that's just what is planned so far! My weekends are getting slim!
And to those of you who are wondering or asking about a name, we are still working on it. We were discussing boy names before we found out the sex since we both thought it was a boy. So everything "girl" is foreign to us! But I must say that it's been a lot of fun to brainstorm girl names and browse the girl's section in stores :) This is going to be tons of fun...
